LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!
What is the Foreign Oil Independence League and why should I give a rat's rear end? All you really see is are links to filling a shopping carts with F.O.I.L. gear, decals, t-shirts and posters. Who and what is F.O.I.L.? Do I really need more T-shirts and posters? And if I buy your bumper stickers, do you know how hard it is to get those damn things off?
(Say, I just checked out the T-shirt line. In particular, the Bin Laden T-shirt. Pretty cool. Now what is it, and those posters and decals? I'm not buying any of your stuff until I get answers.)
WHO WE ARE. We are F.O.I.L., a group of ad people, artists and copywriters who believe in the "100th monkey" phenomenon - (See Wikipedia) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/100_monkeys that when an idea's time has come, there is a kind of Jungian mindmeld thing at work that gets peoples' butts in gear. In this case, it is independence from foreign oil.
You know and we know that increasing domestic oil production and alternative energies are the answer. The sooner the industrial world increases domestic oil production and replaces oil with wind, sun, and tidal power, the closer we come to heading off a Mid-eastern apocalypse.
Folks need reminding. Lots of it.
Here's the sad news. Government and big business leadership have been dangerously derelict in weaning us from foreign oil. The fact that our so-called leaders are waking up is because of grassroots clamoring for renewables like wind, hydrogen and solar.
This is where you and F.O.l.L. come in. Yes, we sell a bunch of propaganda that you don't really need. But it is cool, extreme, striking, often humorous, always message-intense; and the more we visibly support clean energy initiatives, the more citizens are prompted to insist on energy leadership from congress and the president.
Now before you order a bunch of our stuff, thinking your "donation" is tax-deductible, think again. You are donating nothing. You are buying this stuff, and if we can sell enough to do any good, we'll come out ahead. And just so you know, we're about $235,000 in the hole at this posting, and that really chafes our butts. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett we ain't.
You can do your patriotic duty by buying F.O.I.L. posters, decals and gear to remind voters and leaders that we need Foreign Oil Independence Now!
